Whilst I am a natural blonde, my hair is ‘enhanced’. I’m pretty slack at getting touch ups, but however infrequent, peroxide & ammonia is death to your hair. As anyone with enhanced hair colour will attest, you need a good treatment every now and again to help save your hair. It doesn’t help either that I live in an area with pretty hard water. Whenever I leave town I notice my hair instantly gets softer, so I really need good products to counter this harshness.
In the interest of good hair, I’ve given Weleda Oat Replenishing Treatment a good trial run and am sharing my review.
Weleda Oat Replenishing Treatment Review
This Oat Replenishing Treatment by Weleda is a deeply conditioning treatment which works to smooth rough surfaces on the hair whilst providing maximum hydration and nourishment without weighing the hair down. Weleda Oat Replenishing Treatment uses the restorative properties of oat with its watery-siliceous nutrients to structure, restore and protect the damaged protective layer of the hair.
It also contains Shea Butter, Organic Oat, Jojoba and Coconut oils, the rich formula ensures that your hair is left silky soft and boasting an amazing shine. These ingredients smooth the rough surface of the hair, intensely nourishing without weighing hair down and provides an extra dose of moisture to dry, damaged hair.
What I love:
Weleda Oat Replenishing Treatment is incredibly thick and luxurious. The treatment is more like a body butter for the hair than most conventional, synthetic treatments.
It left my hair lovely and soft – but not at all weighed down. As I’ve got super fine hair I’m pretty conscious of any product feeling heavy or oily but this product is perfect.
You don’t need to use a lot – it’s really thick and rich so it spreads well. When it washes of it still feels like there’s a coating over your hair, but that doesn’t transfer to oily looking hair.
My hair styles normally afterwards and stays just as clean as it would after a standard wash and shampoo (those with fine or oily hair will understand how important this is!).
I love the soft scent. It’s nothing in-your-face like it’s chemically-counterparts, but very soft and natural.
My hair feels healthy and strong after treating.
Disclaimer: Sure, pregnancy hormones could also be helping me in the hair department at the moment. But on the other hand, it’s good to know that you can still keep up your beauty regime during pregnancy thanks to effective, safe products like these.
What’s not so good:
I’ll get back to you when I find something I don’t like.
A clean hair treatment under $20 that actually works? What more needs to be said – it’s definitely a ‘buy again’. 5 stars.
How to use:
Once or twice a week gently massage into damp hair, leave for 5 -10 minutes and gently rinse.
Bonus beauty tip: Apply it while soaking in a nice hot, scented bath. Lie back and enjoy. You’ll get out feeling like a goddess.
