Good mascaras are hard to find, even if you’re still using the standard, department store types. After being blessed with blonde lashes (I’m trying to stay positive), mascara was one of the first makeup products I introduced into my life. Even after making the switch to green beauty products, I was so scared to give up my standard mascaras because I really didn’t think I could find a natural equivalent that would work. I was skeptical at first to try 100 Percent Pure Black Tea Mascara but I was, surprisingly, not disappointed!
100% Pure has put a tonne of R&D into delivering what I consider to be the Rolls Royce of natural mascaras. It really is the bomb! From the moment you pull that wand out, you know you’re hooked. Partially because it smells divine, but mostly because once you get the product on you’re stoked with how that tiny wand is small enough to coat every last lash and the brush is perfectly designed to separate and lengthen each individual lash.
100% Pure Black Tea Mascara
100% Pure Black Tea Mascara lengthens, separates, thickens and glosses lashes with fruit pigments and Black tea pigments.
As the first and only mascara coloured from antioxidant rich fruit and tea pigments, it contains supercharged fruit extracts including Blackberry, Blackcurrant and Raspberry as well as lash conditioning ProVitamin B5, Beeswax and Vitamin E.
It contains ingredients like ProVitamin B5, Vitamin E, Oat and Wheat protein to condition your lashes for healthier lashes. Healthier lashes mean better looking, longer lashes down the track.
Adds length to your lashes
The wand is easy to use and a great shape
The wand has an hourglass shape to it which makes it easy to get the inside corners of my eyes. It’s definitely does what it says and is great at lengthening.

Long lasting results
Put it on in the morning and it will still look perfect in the evening. That’s what you want in a mascara!
A problem with many standard mascara’s is they flake. But this seems to be a thing of the past now I’ve gone to natural products. I’m a contact lense wearer and for years when I wouldn’t go past Maybelliene for mascaras, but I would often find the mascara flaked off during wear and more often than not, would end up stuck in my eye/lens irratating the hell out of it. Natural mascaras don’t seem to have this problem. I suspect it’s due to the oils or beeswax in the product that prevent them from going dry.
100% Pure does claim it’s water and smudge resistant. I haven’t put it to the test, but I’ve read quite a few reviews from other users who didn’t think it was. Bottom line, if you want to swim in mascara, find a waterproof specific mascara. This one’s best left for dry land.
Range of colours to choose from
The mascara is available in three colours:
Note: I’ve only tried black.
I don’t normally like to play favourites with my mascaras, but I’m making an exception for 100% Pure Black Tea Mascara. I’m such a lash-whore I will go from wand to wand until I get the fix I want. And what I want is big, fat lashes that last all day. I love the fake lash look, but I’m not keen to spend all morning applying them. I want a mascara that gives me big bouncy lashes without looking clumpy or flaky. I love this mascara as it delivers on all fronts! It’s now my makeup staple.
If you’re a little more conservative than me in your mascara application, 100% Pure Black Tea Mascara will also work for you. Don’t want over-the-top lashes? Don’t apply as many coats. The product is easily buildable to change the look. Because it’s waxy it wont clump or dry messy with the more you apply.
Where to buy 100% Pure Black Tea Mascara
Plenty of online retailers carry the 100% Pure range – it’s a US company and fairly readily available worldwide.
It will set you back around $26.95 in Australia, and believe me, it’s worth every cent.
