You might have noticed things have been a little quiet on here this week. I’ve been a little preoccupied at my brand new, full time job. I mentioned earlier that I wasn’t working and I’ve been looking hard for a new job but unfortunately, in a quiet market. It’s been tough, I won’t lie. I feel like I’ve sent off a million applications to deaf ears.
But now I have a job. A full time one and it’s 100% perfect and required very little effort on my behalf to get it.
The word “manifesting” means to make something tangible or readily perceived by the senses especially by sight. Basically, by thinking it or feeling something, you make it real.
“Like attracts like. Whatever the conscious mind thinks and believes, the subconscious mind identically creates.” -Brian Adams
It’s all about the law of attraction – what you think about you will attract.
How I manifested my dream job
I hated my previous job. It was all so wrong for me. When I finished up there it forced me to re-evaluate my career direction and the kind of workplace I wanted to be in.
I thought about the kind of work I wanted to do, the work I loved doing and where my strengths lay. I thought about the workplace I wanted to be in and the kind of money I wanted to earn. I gave this a lot of thought!
I knew exactly the kind of job I wanted next – from what my boss would be like, to the work I did and how much I would earn. Whenever things got tough in the hunt, I would remind myself of what it was that I was searching for – the dream job.
Two weeks ago I met a guy in a pub. (Not in the sleazy way, I was working there part-time.) Anyway, we got talking. Turns out he owns a company and they were looking to fill a position. This was my position. The position I dreamed of. By the next week I had an offer letter, offering exactly the money I wanted and I was starting on Monday.
My jaw still needs to be lifted from the floor.
If this was a one off, I would be thinking “wow what a strange coincidence”, but this is not the first time this has happened to me. My gorgeous, amazing, pure perfection boyfriend who adores me (almost) as much as I, him? Manifested him too. He is my living, breathing dream man, plus so much more I didn’t even know to ask for.
My point is: whatever you hold your focus on, you manifest.
Within all of us is a divine capacity to manifest and attract all that we need and desire. Knowing that our thoughts create our reality, we begin with the following thought: I have a divine ability to manifest and attract what I need or desire! – Dr Wayne Dyer
How to manifest
1. Get clear on what you want
Know what you want, what it looks like and how you will feel when you have it. Make that image clear. Make a vision board if it helps.
One important thing to consider when manifesting your desires is to make sure your thoughts are specific. For example, if what you want is change, make sure your mind is focused toward a specific change.
2. Get rid of limiting beliefs
Who me? Am I worthy of this [awesome job; amazing man; abundance of….;insert your dream here]?
Yes you are. Take that leap of faith.
The haters will tell you that it’s impossible. These people live their lives with limiting beliefs and for them, it will be impossible. You don’t live with limiting beliefs so your view of life is not the same as theirs
3. Take inspired Action
If an opportunity presents itself that will help you on your path, take it. For example, if you are manifesting becoming an international popstar, you might want to start with taking singing lessons. It’s all well and good to sit around saying, I’m waiting for the universe to deliver me what I’ve asked for. But it’s fairly unlikely though that it will ever happen!
For me, I had to pay the bills while I waited for my dream job. The opportunity arose for me to work casually in a pub. While it had nothing to do with my dream job I took the opportunity but never lost focus on what I wanted. Turns out, it was exactly the job I needed to get the one I wanted.
“Vision is not enough. It must be combined with venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs.” -Vaclav Havel
4. Be grateful
If what you want is based on an idea that your life is lacking, you’re manifesting from a place of negativity. Positivity is far more powerful and feels way better.
Practice gratitude as often as you can. Not just for all you want to attract, but what you have already.
5. Be patient!
Sometimes it will happen overnight, sometimes it will take years. For my perfect job to appear it took months. When we are focused on what we want we don’t often see the bigger picture and can’t understand the processes at hand to bring us what we want. In order for me to meet the person who had my dream job, I needed to get a temporary job at a pub. While I didn’t understand it at the time and often resented my being there, turns out it was completely necessary to bring me to where I am now.
