Manifest Anything You Want

You might have noticed things have been a little quiet on here this week. I’ve been a little preoccupied at my brand new, full time job. I mentioned earlier that I wasn’t working and I’ve been looking hard for a new job but unfortunately, in a quiet market. It’s been tough, I won’t lie. I feel like I’ve sent off a million applications to deaf ears. But now I have a job. A full time one and it’s 100% perfect and required very little effort on my behalf to get it. How did this job just land in my lap? […]

It’s easy to be green with a Bamboo Toothbrush

In Australia, over 30 million toothbrushes are disposed of each year, which creates around 1,000 tonnes of plastic waste. Worldwide there’s over 4.7 Billion plastic toothbrushes produced every year. That’s an island of waste right there! We know plastic doesn’t degrade and typically ends up in landfill or worse, the ocean. If there’s a way to reduce your plastic wouldn’t you jump on the chance? Good news – there is, bamboo toothbrushes! Why bamboo? Bamboo toothbrushes are a brilliant alternative. Bamboo is a wonder material. Because it grows so fast, it’s way more sustainable than traditional wood. Technically considered a member of […]

Learn how to listen to your gut

How do you know when it’s your head talking or your intuition? And how do you make decisions using your gut? I’ve put this post together to help make hearing your gut intuition a little clearer. Our minds tend to be hyperactive and we’re generally very conscious of what we think. For example, I think this is right, or I think this is a good idea. So often we are so busy thinking, we forget to listen. Our mind is even dictating what we think our body is telling us. Our body’s do communicate with us, but in more subtle ways than […]

Kombucha 102: How to bottle and carbonate

So you’ve finished Phase 1 of making Kombucha, and you’ve got a tangy, slighty-sweet tea that tastes ok, but not great. I promised you it was a tasty drink and you now you’re starting to wonder if I’m one of those health nuts who calls foul things nice, just because they’re healthy. Phase 2 of the process is where we make kombucha taste great, bottle it and naturally carbonate it. You’ll soon end up with a delicious fizzy drink that I promise you’ll love! Sometimes called second fermentation, but what I call the Flavour Phase. It is optional (some people do […]

Is Your Ego Out of Control? 4 Steps for Balance

A healthy ego is one that allows you to celebrate your self-worth without losing sight of the fact that others are important too. Being constantly insecure or desperate to establish your superiority is a sign that your ego is in need of some balance. An ego running unchecked and out of control can be damaging to your self esteem and sense of worth. What is ego? Ego means: I, self, or ones sense of self. It’s the identity we craft to give ourselves significance. I.e. I’m Abi, the environmental scientist, girlfriend, daughter, etc. In other words, who we believe we are. For […]

April: What I’m loving right now

My favourite products, places and things each month. This month I’ve got my favourite recipe to share; two make up products including a new foundation I tried and a brilliant illuminator everyone needs; and an essential kitchen gadget you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t already have one. 1. Raw Snickers Bar Slice You know when you have a sweet craving where you feel it will only be satisfied for something really naught, like a Snickers bar? I had one of those this month, so I made a raw snickers bar slice. It was everything I hoped for and more. […]

March: What I’m Loving Right Now

You know how sometimes you get hooked on a product, item of clothing or food and seem to just devour it for ages? This happens to me a fair bit. When I was a teen I was obsessed with Maggi 2 minute noodles. I would eat them as often as I could, and not much else. Oddly my mum thought I was anorexic (she clearly didn’t check the nutrition content) because I would be eating them once or twice a day. Fortunately I gave up that habit after a month or two, and now I’ve moved to far healthier obsessions. These […]

How to cope with change

Happy Monday to all my lovely readers. You have no idea how much it means to me that you stumbled across my blog and chose to stay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Right now I’m in a period of transition. My life is changing and subsequently, this space will be too. I love the metaphor of a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly. First, the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes to dissolve all of its tissues. Then it reforms itself, before emerging as a new being. They’re fascinating creatures and so perfectly capture how to respond to change. We can either reject […]
