We know avocado is great for us – it’s full of vitamin E, healthy fats and antioxidants. But have you tried applying it directly to your skin?
Many all natural skincare lines use avocado in the form of avocado oil. It’s used as a moisturizer and all natural source of free radical damage fighting vitamin A, E, and vitamin C.
The fruit contains a lot of minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, sodium, copper, magnesium, etc. It also contains vitamins A, E, B and K. The result of that special cocktail is that the avocado face mask reaches the deepest layers of the epidermis and gives elasticity even to the driest skin.
It’s super simple to whip up a nourishing avocado face mask and enjoying all it’s benefits.
These are my two favourite avocado masks.
To get you started, just add honey for my (delicious) guacamole mask
It’s brilliant for drier skin types as it is so moisterising.
- ½ ripe avocado
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Mash avocado with honey and apply to the face.
- Let sit 20+ minutes and rinse well.
Normal skin? You will love
Citrus & Avocado Mask
- 2 tablespoons avocado
- 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
- Mash avocado with the juice until it makes a nice paste.
- Let sit 20 minutes and rinse well.
