April: What I’m loving right now

My favourite products, places and things each month. This month I’ve got my favourite recipe to share; two make up products including a new foundation I tried and a brilliant illuminator everyone needs; and an essential kitchen gadget you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t already have one. 1. Raw Snickers Bar Slice You know when you have a sweet craving where you feel it will only be satisfied for something really naught, like a Snickers bar? I had one of those this month, so I made a raw snickers bar slice. It was everything I hoped for and more. […]

Tried & Tested: Ere Perez Sunflower Oil Mascara

I traditionally use black mascara’s, but have often read about why brown is a great choice on those with fairer skin or blonde hair.  Black mascara doesn’t suit everyone, so this is the answer. The Ere Perez Sunflower Oil Mascara comes in a gorgeous, velvety dark brown colour that accentuates length naturally and compliments fair skins and hair colour. Ere Perez Natural Cosmetics is one of my favourite cosmetics brands. Not only do they make great stuff, they’re also a great Australian company who pump their products full of natural oils, plant extracts and minerals so not only do they work […]

Separating Fact from Fiction with Organic Makeup Myths

I get asked a million questions when I tell other women I only use all natural make-up products. Generally it’s met with confusion, or “is that a thing?”. For the women who know me and know how much I love makeup, the confusion only grows. I think when natural, organic makeup first came onto the market it was pretty crappy (somewhat like early fake tans and their orange hues), but as demand has grown so has the R&D that goes into these products. Now there is no excuse for poor performing natural products and you can expect much the same […]

Tried & Tested: Zuii Organic Lipsticks

Oooooh I love trying on new makeup! I used to spend hours in departments stores and pharmacies trying on and experimenting with all the latest products and colours. Alas, those days are behind me as those places rarely stock anything I want to put on my skin. But then I got this awesome little sample bag of Zuii Organic Lipsticks in all sorts of nudes and pinks. Dutifully I’ve tested them all out for you. Zuii Flora Lipstick’s are rich and creamy Certified Organic lipsticks, soothing and nourishing, rich in colour, the variety of colour shades for all occasions (we’ll just look at […]

Thai Sticky Mince Stir Fry (Paleo)

Mince meat (or ground beef for my American friends) is one of my favourite meats to cook with. It’s just so easy and versatile. I struggle cooking a steak. Medium rare is great, a little over and it risks going dry and if it’s tough, it’s the worst! But mince, you can play with it, mould it, over cook it, and every time it will come out perfect. It’s the foolproof meat! This weeks dish is a continent away from the traditional European-style mince dishes I normally make. With flavours of Thailand, plenty of fresh vegetables and herbs, combined by a […]

A manicure without the chemical hangover? Reviewing Scotch Naturals

I bet you thought switching to natural makeup and beauty products meant giving up the good stuff, like nail polish. Fortunately, a bunch of like-minded geniuses didn’t want to miss out either, so they created a fantastic range of salon quality, water based, safe and non toxic nail polishes. Hurrah!

Create your Perfect Pout with Organic Lipstick

Ready to make the switch to organic, natural makeup? Lipstick is a great place to start as you can easily find a comparable product – here are my reviews and colour guides to help you get started.  I’ve been experimenting with lip colour a bit of late. I’ve always been a little daunted by lipstick. I mean, I love eye makeup and am more than happy to experiment with heavy eye shadows, coloured eyeliners and different techniques. However when it comes to adding a splash of colour to my lips, well, it freaks me out. It’s all well and good […]

Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Salad (Paleo)

There’s rumors around town that a Vietnamese restaurant is about to open up, which gave me a serious craving for the noodle salads I used to devour when I still lived in Sydney. I don’t often get homesick for the city, but whenever good food is mentioned my heart instantly aches! Sydney’s home to such a vibrant multicultural food heaven and the flavour choices are endless. Ahhh take me back! I conquered this craving/homesickness by revisiting my Vietnamese Chicken Salad recipe I posted a few months back and modified it to create a noodle salad. Don’t you just love a recipe that keeps on […]

I’ve moved!

Welcome to my new page… you may not even noticed you’ve been diverted, so surprise! My new page (in case you want to bookmark it) is – only slightly different, but don’t forget to add the .au on the end. I’m now self-hosting, which was an interesting and challenging way to spend a week. I’m still not sure what FTP or CPanel is supposed to mean/do, but it seems somehow I fluked my way into getting the site back up and running. And like the adult I am, I didn’t even cry. Not even once! I hope you will enjoy […]
